L. Scott Miller Announces Candidacy for Kentucky House District 88
LEXINGTON, KY — L. Scott Miller, a lifelong public servant, attorney, and former Kentucky State Police Lt. Colonel, today announced his candidacy for Kentucky House District 88, pledging to bring independent, principled leadership to Frankfort that puts Kentucky families ahead of partisan politics.
After decades serving the Commonwealth in law enforcement and the legal profession, Miller said he is running because Kentuckians deserve elected officials who focus on solving problems instead of playing political games.
"I've spent my career serving the people of Kentucky, first as a State Trooper and later as an attorney representing the men and women who protect our communities," Miller said. "Now I'm running for the Kentucky House because families deserve a representative who will listen, lead with integrity, and focus on the issues that affect their daily lives."
Miller's campaign will focus on making healthcare and everyday life more affordable, supporting law enforcement and first responders, strengthening Kentucky's economy, protecting small businesses and agriculture, improving education, and defending the constitutional rights of Kentuckians.
"Families are feeling the pressure of rising costs, whether it's groceries, housing, utilities, or healthcare," Miller said. "Kentucky needs practical solutions that make life more affordable, support job creation, and help people keep more of what they earn."
Miller said public safety will remain one of his top priorities. "Safe communities are the foundation of a strong Kentucky," he said. "I'll always stand with our law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and first responders while working to hold criminals accountable and address the drug crisis affecting communities across our state."
Miller and his wife, Rachel, have lived in Lexington for 18 years. They are proud parents and grandparents and say their family is the inspiration behind his campaign.
"I'm running because I want my children, grandchildren, and every Kentucky family to have the opportunity to build a safe, prosperous future right here in the Commonwealth," Miller said. "I will always put the people of House District 88 first."
